Fish-Derby-FLYER-FINAL

To celebrate the 5-year campaign to restore Lake Belleview, CSF will co-host a Fish Derby-Nature Expo and Cleanup with the Sea Turtle Conservation Team on December 6 at Lake Belleview. Several city departments also will participate and support the event. The nature expo and clean-up are open to the public.

Also included in Nature Expo will be the Florida Department of Environmental Protection-Southwest District and Pinellas County Public Works Department-Environmental Division.

The Fish Derby is sold out with teams from Ross Norton Recreation Center, North Greenwood Recreation Center, the Hispanic Outreach Center, CSF, Pinellas County Housing Authority, Team Lowes and the Community Service Foundation. Youth ages 8-15 years old will be provided a session to learn fishing skills by the FFWC prior to the derby and Fish Florida will provide fishing gear for participants.

The 5th and final edition of the Birds of the Belle calendar is in production and will be distributed at the December 6 event. This edition will honor the campaign’s photographer Joel Suhm. The Birds of the Belle calendar features 62 bird species that call the Belle home.

Please be reminded that on the 1st Saturday of each month,(October 4) the Sea Turtle Conservation Team hosts a clean up at Lake Belleview from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; we encourage your continued support.

Lake Belleview Neighborhood EARTH DAY Cleanup       

     9-11 a.m. April 22, 2023 – At Belmont Park-1535 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.

    Volunteers will receive gloves, pickers, trash bags, and food/beverage hospitality.

April 22nd marks the 53rd anniversary of Earth Day – a day of action to promote environmental protection in daily life and public policy. This year’s theme is “Invest in our planet”. Our hope is that Earth Day 2023 will help us focus on efforts to activate everyone – governments, citizens, and businesses – to do their part. Everyone accounted for, and everyone accountable. A healthy planet is not an option — it is a necessity. It’s the only home we have.

  • June 2022- May 2023: Sponsorship of the Felinos United Soccer Club to support recreational tournaments, equipment and practice field rental expenses via a Clearwater United Fund at the Community Service Foundation.
    • The Felinos United Soccer Club, founded in 2013 by Israel Secundino, is a non-profit organization soccer club from Clearwater, Florida. The name was inspired by the Mexican professional football club UNAM Pumas. Felinos United Soccer Club supports youth from 6-13 years old.
  • November 26, 2022. World Cup Watch Party and Soccer Clinic. Hosted at the City of Clearwater Recreation Department Belmont Park and Ross Norton Recreation Center. Schedule as follows:
    • 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Soccer Clinic at Belmont Park, 1535 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Clearwater, open to youth and supported by Felinos United Soccer Club volunteers.
    • 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. Ross Norton Recreation Center, Mexico vs. Argentina in Group C Match. Watch Party for 200 invited guests. This free event will be supported through local business sponsor to provide food, beverages (non-alcohol) and broadcast fees.
